UPPCS / PCS Pre Syllabus & Latest Pattern

 

UPPSC / UPPCS / PCS pre syllabus and UPPCS Paper Pattern is given below. First we will explain the UPPSC paper pattern then UPPSC / UPPCS / PCS prelims syllabus will be specified.

Given UPPSC / UPPCS / PCS prelims syllabus and UPPCS Paper pattern are based on latest update by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, Prayagraj.

UPPCS / PCS Exam or Paper Pattern:

The UPPCS competitive examination comprise three stages:

(1) Prelims Examination (Objective Multiple choice)

(2) Main Examination (Written)

(3) Interview (Oral)

UPPCS / PCS Pre Paper

UPPCS / PCS Pre Paper consists of two papers: Both exams are of a two hour duration

  • Paper 1 : General Studies (200 marks/150 Questions)

  • Paper 2 : CSAT(200 marks/100 Questions)

Note:  Paper 2(CSAT) is a qualifying paper in UPPCS/ PCS Pre paper; which the candidates must obtain a minimum of 33% marks. However the selection from UPPCS/ PCS Pre paper stage will be done on the basis of marks obtained in Paper 1

UPPCS / PCS Pre Syllabus of Paper 1: General StudiCurrent events of national and international importance

1. History of India and Indian National Movement

2. Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World

3. Indian Polity & Governance -Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

4. Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

5. General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.

6. General Science

 

 UPPCS/ PCS Pre Syllabus of Paper 2: CSAT

1.Comprehension

  1. Interpersonal skills including communication skills

  2. Logical reasoning and analytical ability

  3. Decision making and problem solving

  4. General mental ability

  5. Elementary Mathematics up to Class X level

  6. General English up to Class X level

  7. General Hindi up to Class X level.
